Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 1 Peter 1:8KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KVJ
Overwhelming peace quiets the soul of the new Christian believer. What is this peace that consumes us? The assurance that our sin issue has been taken care of by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the confidence that heaven is our home for all eternity. The war between good and evil that waged within us has ceased, the weight of sin on our souls has been lifted and we are elated. This is God’s unspeakable joy.
As new creatures in Christ, not only do we experience peace and joy, but our spiritual eyes are opened. We see clearly man’s disposition toward sin, and grasp the reality that the Christian way of life is directly opposite to the culture in which we live.
Four Keys to Adjusting to Your New Life in Christ
Do not allow yourself to become an island.
Because they do not understand the change in your life, family members and friends may choose not to associate with you. Stay connected to your church; make new friends in Christ and grow in faith by doing life together.
Become a lifelong student of the Word of God.
Do not depend solely on others to tell you what God has said. Read your bible daily. As you learn more and more about God and His principles, you will begin to see life from His viewpoint. Living for Him will become your greatest joy.
Accept that Christianity is not popular.
Do not allow unbelieving acquaintances to pull you away from the faith or attending church.
Talk to God often.
Ask Him to help you in your daily life – He will! Never neglect prayer, develop a life style of consistence, perpetual and perennial prayer. Prayer is like blood in our bodies, weak blood with less white cell weak body prone to attacks. So is prayer in the life of a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, I thank you for the wonderful gift of new life in Christ Jesus that you have given me. Help me to grow spiritually as I adjust my life to fellowship daily with You and staying connect to my local church. Holy Spirit help me to be a lifelong student of the Word of God, that I may always be ready to give account of my faith.
In the wonder working name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
